Andrew Young's Occultation Images

Andy has had an interest in astronomy since the lunar eclipse visible from the UK in 1999. He clearly retains an interest in the Moon, as his images below illustrate! He has only just acquired a camera so all his images are experimental but, now, having the equipment he can see himself doing more. However, Andy lives in town so his images are limited to what is possible given the presence of street lights.

Both images were taken on 8 December 2008 from his bathroom window, overlooking Teign estuary, Teignmouth, Devon in the southwest of the UK. Andy used a Panasonic Lumix DSLR DMC-FZ30 camera, tripod and a variety of shutter timings.
