Hi all! I Just bought a Celestron NexStar 6 SE. I used it yesterday and everything was fine. But the only problem is. The only think I can really see details is the Moon. All the other planets (Jupiter for example) I can only see a dot. So I am really concerned. Does it have to do with the eyepiece? Do I have to buy different eyepieces in order to have higher magnification? Or I should be able to see Jupiter details with the eyepiece provided? Appreciate your help!! Thanks,
Roger

Hi, rogerusp!
You have bought a very good reflector, but you need some recommendable eypieces. I'm new here and probably you have already bought some important accessories... You need some Hyperion eypieces. You can obtain a max. reasonable magnification about 300x. Having focal width= 1500 mm, try to buying some eyepieces as follows: f= 5mm for planetary observation and astrophotos- Hyperion, a zoom 8-24 mm eyepiece from Celestron. The max. magnification can be multiplied by 2x, even 3x if you decide to use some lens systems called Barlow.
I have a very useful link for you, but I have permission to put that in messages later, after minimum 4 posts, administrator says.
If you have more questions, I'll help you as I can.
Cheers,
Dan-Romania
