ESA calls for Venus observations

Hi all,

In support of the Venus Express mission, ESA has launched the Venus ground-based Active Archive (VAA). The VAA allows you to upload and retrieve images of Venus (ultraviolet/visible/infrared) in such a way that they are useful for scientists (uncompressed images, set of predefined keywords).

The VAA is an opportunity for amateur-astronomers (including me) to contribute to the Venus Express mission and to receive proper recognition for their skill from the professional community. If the VAA is a success, it may lead to more frequent involvement of amateur-astronomers in space missions. So if you observe Venus or know people that do, please tell them about this initiative!

Please let me know, will you participate?

Good luck!
