Unknown Fallen Object In Peru Causing Illness?

Un unidentified object which landed near Carancas, in the Puna region of Peru has been rumored to be the cause of itchy throats, weepy eyes and upset stomachs. No radiation has been detected coming from the crater, and rampant fear has been blamed as a possible cause of reported illness.
A fireball was spotted this weekend, thought to be a meteor.
More investigation is required to determine what the object actually was, but it has been confirmed that it was not a satellite.

I read in a newspaper here in Australia that the cause of the illness was due to arsenic poisoning.It appears that the soil/ground at the crater and nearby regions has a high concentration of arsenic.Released by the impact and only suffered by those who were at the scene within a day or so,the sickness was minimal and everyone is recovering.I've yet to check this story but it would be great if anyone heard something along the same lines.
