Calvera and the Magnificent Seven

The Magnificent Seven is the name given to the seven isolated neutron stars. Calvera is a newly named neutron star located in Ursa Minor.
( These are considered isolated because no known association exists between the neutron star and a supernova remnant, binary companion, or any radio pulsations. )

Calvera, which may be the closest neutron star to earth, does not exactly fit the known description of the original Magnificent Seven in that some of the key characteristics, which the others hold, are missing.

It is thought that it may have been a part of our galaxy before going supernova and may have then wandered out of the galactic disk.
