To test the theory of the ability of life forms hitchhiking a plantary ride to earth by asteroid strikes, a 400 million year old Scottish sedimentary rock will journey aboard European Space Agency's Foton M3 on September 14, 2007 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
On return, researchers will investigate how the rock's molecules have been affected by the reentry process.
