Will the JWST Rival Our Beloved Hubble?

The James Webb Space Telescope will be launched in 2013 and has the ability to adjust its 18 hexagonal mirrors.
The interesting point is that the JWST will launch in a folded up position and by means of updated software will be able to self align its 269 sq. ft combined lightweight beryllium mirror surface (almost six times Hubble's light-gathering capability). All this will take place effortlessly in orbit 1.6 million miles from earth.

Hi Lynda
Just a quick one. How come NASA are going to crash Hubble in to earth, or at least let it burn up in the atmosphere? Why cant they keep the great space icon going for as long as they can? Seems almost unfair that NASA just kill it.

NASA are going to do a service run to the telescope, then why cant they dissmantle it and bring it back down to earth?
