I have recently purchased a Meade 2045 LX3 which is a 4" Schmidt-Cassegrain scope produced in 1988. This is my first scope and it seems to be solid and optically sound. However, it came with no owners manual and Meade was no help. They finally sent me a manual 3 months after I contacted them (I had forgotten about it by the time it arrived), unfortunately it was not for my scope! I have no idea how to align it or how to do anything with it other than to manually move it by hand and look at objects that I can locate with the naked eye. Don't get me wrong, I like looking at the Orion nebulae, the Pleiades, Jupiter and the moon as much as the next guy, but I want more bang for my buck! Is there anyone out there that can help me with getting a copy of an instruction manual and a list of accessories that can be used with this scope? It is a beautiful little scope that I'm anxious to use on a regular basis. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. [/b]

I have a question similar to the one posted by ehaynes0013. I own a Meade 2045 LX3 and would like to use it for astrophotography. I basically know how to polar align the scope, but the motor drive does not seem to work even though I am plugged into a 12V power supply (the red light on the base of the scope is on, but the drive is not engaged). Does anyone know if there exists an owner's manual for this scope?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
