Mercury Seven astronaut dies
Walter "Wally" Schirra died peacefully today at 84 years of age.

He was the third American to orbit the Earth in NASA's Mercury capsule in 1962. He followed this achievement by commanding Gemini 6 and spent eleven days in orbit on Apollo 11.
