Now that Barry has his new observatory all finished, maybe he can send us pix of the newly discovered 9th magnitude Comet Lovejoy (C/2007 E2). The news is that this comet was discovered by fellow Australian Terry Lovejoy on March 15 using a digital Canon 350D. WAY TO GO ! Australian John Drummund confirmed the comet's presence using his reflector. www.spaceweather.com has a nice photo of this green comet.
While you are out tonight, take a look at the Moon and Venus.
Happy observing.- LL

Discovered by Mr. Terry Lovejoy from Queensland, Australia on March 15th, this is a very interestingly beautiful green coma'd comet. Mr. Lovejoy discovered it with his digital Cannon 350D and a zoom lens after a two year (and then some) search.
Comet Lovejoy's northern path has brought it closer for observers in the Americas . Gracing our skies low in the southeast sky near the southern half of Aquila, look tonight and tomorrow night overhead near Lyra and Hercules around 3a.m. - LL
