Where are the images of the Landing sites?

Hi Lydia and forum,

Interesting links there, and I enjoyed visiting them, but there is a nagging question picking at me.

I remember the landing in '69, as I stayed glued to the screen while my moronic friends rather have played softball instead. It's almost a religious iconic symbol that men did indeed set foot on the Moon. But now, with todays advanced imagery, Hubble and lunar orbiters...we still do not have any images of the landers to this day.

Yes, yes, I am aware that the decent stages are much too small to be imaged themselves, but we could get some evidence from the area of disturbance. Long elongated shadows from the landers could be viewed as the sun rises from the lunar horizon. Foot traffic causing a darker colored surface, intruments causing glare...something! For years we were told that the Hubble could not aim at the Moon, because it was too bright and would harm sensitive instruments...but we have Lunar imagery from it's cameras, but none of the sites. Sure, we have the areas pics of the Apollo sites, but nothing definitive. I would think, that NASA would exploit the landing sites for national pride, or just to bump up the budget.

Clementine, SMART 1 and others have orbited the Moon extensively, but again...no pics. We have seen from the Mars Orbiter the actual rovers and their tracks, and even the bounce marks from the landing. When the Chinese finally get to the Moon, I certainly hope they send back some images.

On my forum, there are extensive threads on this subject and a collection of images that supposedly show the areas of the landers, but I see nothing concrete.

Do I think we landed, yes, but I sure would like to see some images.

What do you all think?

People who believe the Moon landings were faked will not change their minds just because we show them photos of the landing sites. Obviously they could be faked too.

Have the original Moon landing magnetic tapes been lost?

Anybody heard of this one?

Priceless Tapes lost...

Yes, I have been following this one.

70+ boxes of Apollo magnetic video tapes are "lost" and location unknown.

How can national treasures like this be lost and just signed out by anyone? Common sense would dictate that copies be made, and the originals stored securely. Lost on purpose, or just incompetence? Either way, it's unexcusable.

Hoagland has been on this as well, and has a good section on his website: www.enterprisemission.com
