Newbie question about Matsutov-Cat telephoto lens.

Newbie question about Matsutov-Cat telephoto lens.
Greeting to all in this place! I am the rankest newbie who's only previous astronomy studies were in the field of "flat-back" astronomy. A friend gave an MTO-11CA 1000mm telephoto lens. Is there any way to convert the chunk-o-glass to use to as a telescope? Thanks and God bless!
