Astronomy Today Community

Hi

I am basically an astrologer from India and follow moon sign system. I used to creat a birth chart based on the degrees of planets given in almanac or ephimeris.

As you are aware astrology is basically based on the planetary positions in the sky which is supplied by astronomist.

Could any body guide me for the following:

1. Any book or article or site which suggest how the ephimeris are calculated (formulae, methodology of calculation, procedure etc)

2. Any other method by which the planetary positions can be calculated at any given time and date without using pre-printed tables or allied data. This should be some thing like using a formulae where in data is fed and answer is out.

Any one knows as to how an almanac is created, which is based on the data calculated indirectly through astronomy.

Your replies will be of great help to me.

With warm regards and thanking you once again.

This should be a good place to start.

It may be helpful to find software to do the calculations for you, This seems to be a complicated process at first glance but, I haven't really studied the subject that much.
